IndieCast Radio Spotlight: Oblio and Arrow

Posted: February 20, 2013 in IndieCast Spotlight

Matthew Kopecky first started Oblio And Arrow in 2009. The Chicago native wrote, recorded and performed all the music on the debut album released in 2011 titled “Thank God For Photons”.

At it’s core, Oblio And Arrow is a ‘rock’ band, yet far from your typical sounding ‘rock’ group.

With heavy layers of percussion, a chorus of vocals, catchy pop hooks and a warm, ambient back drop, Oblio And Arrow draws from many, and sounds like few.

In the early part of 2012 Matthew had lined up with friends Zach Biggus, Brian Whitebread and Mike Krieglstein to form the group. Oblio has been very busy ever since, recently releasing a new EP in October, titled ‘Summer Triangle’ and performing in and around the Chicago land area. The group is also making preparations for a mid west tour for the spring of 2013.

Listen to the tracks “Failing Headlights” “A Long Solo” and “Open Door” now on IndieCast.
